Jump Rope Counter
Frequently Asked Questions
Jump detection isn't working properly. What should I do?
If the app isn't detecting your jumps accurately, try these steps:
- Lighting: Ensure you're in a well-lit area. The AI needs good lighting to detect your body.
- Full Body Visibility: Make sure your entire body is visible in the camera frame, from head to feet.
- Camera Position: Position your phone at hip height or slightly lower, about 6-10 feet away.
- Stable Surface: Place your phone on a stable surface or use a tripod.
- Calibration: Try recalibrating in Settings > Workout Settings > Recalibrate Detection.
Tip: The app works best when wearing contrasting clothing against your background.
How do I calibrate the detection for my jumping style?
Calibration helps the app adapt to your unique jumping style:
- Go to Settings > Workout Settings
- Tap Recalibrate Detection
- Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a few sample jumps
- The app will adjust sensitivity for your height and jumping pattern
You can recalibrate anytime if you change your workout space or shoes.
How do I restore my Pro subscription?
If you previously purchased Pro and it's not showing up:
- Open Jump Rope Counter
- Go to Profile > Subscription
- Tap Restore Purchases
- Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase
If restore doesn't work, please contact us with your purchase receipt.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through the App Store:
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find Jump Rope Counter and tap it
- Tap Cancel Subscription
You'll retain access to Pro features until the end of your billing period.
Workouts aren't syncing to Apple Health. How do I fix this?
To enable Apple Health sync:
- Open iPhone Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices
- Find Jump Rope Counter
- Enable permissions for Active Energy
If already enabled, try toggling off and on again. Also ensure Health integration is enabled in the app under Settings > Health Integration.
How accurate is the calorie calculation?
Our calorie calculations are estimates based on:
- Number of jumps completed
- Workout duration and intensity
- Average metabolic equivalents (METs) for jump rope exercise
For more accurate tracking, we recommend using a heart rate monitor paired with Apple Health. Individual factors like weight, fitness level, and jump intensity affect actual calories burned.
Does the app work without internet?
Yes! Jump Rope Counter works completely offline:
- All jump detection happens on your device
- Workouts are saved locally
- Statistics and achievements work offline
Internet is only needed for subscription verification and app updates.
Why does the app need camera access?
The camera is essential for our AI-powered jump detection:
- The camera captures your movements in real-time
- AI analyzes your body position to detect jumps
- All processing happens on-device - no video is ever uploaded
Your privacy is protected: We never record, store, or transmit any camera footage.
